About me:
I am of Chinese-Cambodian decent and was born in Pailin, Cambodia in 1973. I came to the U.S. when I was 3. I spent my youth in Rockport, TX and my teen years in Minnetonka, MN. For about 6 years now I have been living in New York. I ended up here because my husband and I decided to accept a job offer he got as a coffee trader. It's been fun and going into the city to dine in fabulous restaurants is a real treat that I don't get to do often enough. I am in love with food. Not just any food, but good food. My taste buds are very adventurous and I'd try just about anything once. Wait...I take that back. Except for the type of cuisine you'd find on Survivor. Unless I'm there competing to win a million bucks I'd eat it, otherwise...no thanks!;D I have been married for 8 years and I have two children. A son who is 7 and a daugher who is 5. They both love to help me cook in the kitchen. My goal is to get a degree in Culinary Arts Management and start my own business.

Cherry Pie IV

Reviewed on Nov. 28, 2008 by Jennifer C.
Delicious filling - I used 2 cans of sour cherries packed in water (each around 14oz) and used Pepperidge Farms Phyllo Sheets as a crust and made a cherry tart! It was a hit and the best cherry tart/pie I've ever had!

Chocolate Pecan Pie IV

Reviewed on Nov. 28, 2008 by Jennifer C.
This was a good pie, I used a Pillsbury crust - I love pecan pie & thought this would be the ultimate. It was good, but not "the best" or even great, just good.

Date-Filled Sandwich Cookies

Reviewed on Nov. 17, 2008 by HeidiLynn
I have a recipe very similar to this that has been a family favorite for years. It was always made by a fellow churchmember around the holidays and shared with after-service coffee. I have since moved away from my small town, but these cookies are always my favorite at Christmas! we make ours as date-filled, with the edges of the cookies pinched togther so that the dates provide more than a filling, rather than as a sandwich.
