About me:
I was born in Iceland because my father was stationed there in the Navy soon after my parents were married. I had dual citizenship until I was 18 but like most people living in the great United States, I am proud to be an American. I am happily married to a patient man who willingly eats my culinary experiments and we have 4 fur kids (a.k.a. cats) that we adore.

Homemade Butter

Reviewed on Jul. 19, 2008 by Linriyum
I used local organic grass fed heavy cream and it was awesome!!! I even used the buttermilk to make pancakes! Deeeelish! It only took about 6 or 7 minutes in my food processor. Well worth it! Very easy!

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Reviewed on Jul. 9, 2008 by T. Bourchert
This is a fantastic recipe! My daughter loves pancakes, so I make them for dinner when my husband has to work late or pull a graveyard shift. I usually try to keep a box of pancake mix on hand for such occasions but one one night I didn't have any mix and hadn't made it to the store by evening time. So I tried this out and I was surprised at how easy it was, not to mention tasty! I followed the recipe exact the first time and they were wonderful. I've made these a few times since, and though now i add strawberries or some other extras to it, the recipe as is is great. I even made these one saturday morning and my husband, who isn't really a pancake fan, just loved them! I haven't bought a mix since! Thanks for the fabulous recipe!

Chocolate Chip Orange Zucchini Bread

Reviewed on Jun. 29, 2008 by ROWAN1099
This was a great zucchini bread recipe - a litte different from the norm. I did the usual applesauce for oil substitution and added a teaspoon of orange extract for additional flavor. I upped the amount of cinnamon to 3/4t, reduced the nutmeg to 1/4t and addd 1/8t of cloves. We'll be making this often with our bumper crop of zucchini.
